Chelsea players rated in defeat vs Southampton

Chelsea locked horns with Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a positive result on the road. The Blues made a decent start to the contest as they took the lead in the 23rd minute courtesy of Raheem Sterling’s tap-in. However, the Saints managed to equalise just five minutes later via Romeo Lavia’s goal. Adam Armstrong completed the turnaround for the home side as he scored in the first half injury-time. Chelsea went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.

Thomas Tuchel’s men tried their best but failed to come up with a response in the second 45 minutes as the contest ended with the Blues suffering a 2-1 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the match against the Saints.
