Forgotten Arsenal man set to return to the Emirates

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey would ‘love’ to rejoin Arsenal in the January transfer window.

That’s according to former Gunner Theo Walcott, who believes the Welshman would jump at the opportunity of returning to the Emirates.

Ramsey, 30, swapped London for Turin in 2019 when he joined Juventus on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Arsenal.

However, the former Cardiff City man has endured a injury-ravaged spell in Italy and the club are looking to sell him in January, if only to get his £400,000-a-week wages off the books.

‘I’ll find out, give him a call and pester him (on if he’s returning to the Premier League),’ Walcott told TalkSPORT.

‘Do you know what, it would be lovely, it would be fantastic if he came back to the Premier League. I feel like he would want to.

‘Some part of me in my head thinks that he would love to come back to Arsenal. It does. Something about that would sort of tick a box.

‘It’s one of those things, he’s at Juventus and he played very well for Wales last night and it’s good to see. A lot of people have been on his back in Italy, which I haven’t seen a lot or enough of it to comment on that.

‘But he’s a leader. He’s a workhorse. Still playing for his country and has all these caps.’

Ramsey would likely have to accept a severe reduction on his salary if he’s to get his wish of returning to England.

Newcastle have been linked with the Welshman given they’re one of the few clubs that could now afford his wages but it’s unclear whether Ramsey would entertain a move to the north-east.
