I’m fully back now, I’ll be better than Lukaku- chelsea world-class player says

chelsea star forward should start for Chelsea. I know we have heard the same old story as to why he shouldn’t but this time it’s different. This time I can feel him oozing with confidence. Becoming the best forward that he can be. There’s just a tiny hurdle that he has to jump over, which is convincing Thomas Tuchel to start him ahead of his fellow countryman, Kai Havertz.

Werner scored a brace during Germany’s World Cup qualifier match on Monday subsequently securing them a place at the 2022 World Cup. He has found his hunger and struck into goal-scoring form but for him, his talent had never left.

“I had to ignore it [the criticism],” Werner said via The Sun. ‘If I kept thinking about it, I wouldn’t have been able to play.

...

‘At some point, I knew the goals would start to come. I know what I can do.”

trust me i’ll be better than lukaku now that i’m back.

That’s exactly what I thought too. As a fan, it’s easy to ridicule the potential redemption of a misfiring striker. Werner had not had the best of starts to his Chelsea career and with the reintroduction of Romelu Lukaku to the team, his future looked bleak at the Bridge. Knowing how well Werner plays in a two-up front, Tuchel may need to look into allowing a partnership between Werner and Lukaku to blossom and progress for the benefit of both forwards.

I’ll be keeping a close eye on Werner as the season progresses. I predict a successful run of games for the German international. With five goals in eight for Germany and one goal in six for Chelsea, it is clear that all he needs is substantial game time to change the minds of the Chelsea faithful. He is more than confident in his own ability, and now so am I.

Werner scored 95 goals for Leipzig in 159 appearances in four seasons. The last season of his Leipzig career was his best when he got 34 goals in 45 appearances. He had his rough times where he missed a few chances but he would pick himself up and go again. Hopefully now with a few goals to his name and fans chanting his name week in week out, he can find that goalscoring form while Romelu Lukaku takes the strain of needing to score the goals

Chelsea have a favourable set of fixtures where we will be mostly on the front foot most matches and more chance to play an attacking two and take the game to teams. This could mean Werner getting a long run in the side.

Hopefully, by the end of this next run of fixtures, we have seen the Werner that Chelsea signed from Leipzig a little more.
