Man Utd player ‘accepts destination’ with move to La Liga ‘set to be completed’

Alex Telles is supposedly on the verge of leaving Manchester United because Sevilla of La Liga is ‘closing in’ on signing him from Erik ten Hag’s team.

The seasoned full-back was signed ahead of the 2020–21 season, but Luke Shaw, who was in excellent form that year, was given priority.

Last season, Shaw battled with his form and fitness as one of many Man Utd players who failed.

Telles entered United’s lineup intermittently last season, although he performed no better than Shaw.

Under Ten Hag, the Portugal international has been a member of United’s preseason squad. The club has brought back Steve McClaren to serve as the Dutchman’s assistant.

Ralf Rangnick might disagree, but McClaren believes that Manchester United has a “great group.”

“What I’ve discovered is that these players are fantastic to work with. They were a touch reserved during the first week of training since it was so tough, according to McClaren (quoted on United’s website).

“But you can feel the noise and the volume in training, in the locker room, around the hotel, and around Carrington, start to [build] as we got to know the players and as we spent more and more time in training sessions and they became aware of the demands, the intensity, the competition, the winning and losing, and the banter that goes along with it.

“These are damn-good players, which is what I appreciate, and it’s why I enjoy teaching and returning here. That much is evident.

You may have caught glimpses of it during preseason, such as the front three’s alignment, the midfielders’ work rate, and the defense’s organization.

These are good players, and I mean that. I am aware of how difficult and demanding the first week was for them.

This group has been excellent. It makes me feel wonderful. I’ve been in a ton of changing rooms throughout the course of the first two, three, and four weeks, so you kind of get the hang of it and can smell it.

I have a positive impression of this changing area.

Telles is one player that is free to depart as United plan a defensive clearout, despite his participation in preseason.

He has been signed by Sevilla of La Liga, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

He is aware that Sevilla is “closing in” on the acquisition. It is acknowledged that an agreement is “set to be concluded” and that Telles has “accepted the destination.”
