Eddie Howe is said to have identified the Scotsman as a priority this summer as he looks to add a more attacking left-back to his squad.

Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, is considering a similar move, chasing Tierney less than a year after losing Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal.

The 25-year-old has been playing backup to the Ukrainian this season and is hoping for a transfer away to obtain more regular playing time, with recent rumors claiming that £30 million could be enough to entice Arsenal to sell.

If he avoids injuries, the former Celtic defender could be the ideal forward-thinking full-back for Newcastle United. It would be difficult for him to compete with Man City, but if he left the Emirates for the Etihad, he could move from one back-up role to another.

Like James Maddison, who has been linked with a move to City, we’ll have to hope Guardiola looks elsewhere.

Pep Guardiola has identified both full-back positions as areas to improve depth in the upcoming transfer window, and the 25-year-old Scotland international is a target.

Tierney is said to be open to a move and a new challenge, with his name on the want lists of a number of clubs.

Newcastle’s significant interest in the former Celtic player was initially revealed by Football Insider in February, and he remains an ey target, with Aston Villa also keeping an eye on his position.

Man City are said to be discussing the terms of a deal, including how much Tierney would cost and whether he would be interested in moving to the Etihad.

Despite manager Miel Arteta’s refusal to recognize the idea and continuing to maintain he has big hopes for Tierney at Arsenal, the likelihood of the former Celtic man leaving this summer is high.

Privately, the north Londoners are thought to value the Scot at approximately £30 million, which could be enough to secure a deal for him.

Tierney has made just five Premier League starts this season, totaling 1285 minutes in 31 appearances in all competitions.

Since joining Arsenal for £25 million from Celtic in the summer of 2019, he has made 118 appearances.
