The Dane has been out for nearly two months after suffering an ankle injury in an FA Cup win over Reading from a nasty challenge by Andy Carroll.

To compensate for Eriksen’s absence, United were forced to sign Marcel Sabitzer on loan on deadline day, and the Austrian has impressed during a hectic period for the Reds.

Erik ten Hag, on the other hand, has sorely missed Eriksen’s creativity from deeper areas, and he’s recently pushed Bruno Fernandes into central midfield to boost the team’s playmaking.

Eriksen was initially ruled out until late April or early May, despite his desire to return before the end of the season.

The middle photo was taken in early March, when Eriksen’s protective boot was removed and he was able to accelerate his progress in the gym.

Eriksen was wearing boots in the last photo, which was presumably taken today, as he was able to train on grass for the first time.

United expects Eriksen to return in early to mid-April, which is a significant boost given Casemiro’s four-match suspension.
