Casemiro’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football Last Season

Casemiro had another successful campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as he helped the Madrid club win the UEFA Champions League trophy once again earlier this summer. The 30-year-old scored one goal and grabbed four assists in 48 matches for Los Blancos last season across all fronts.

The Brazil international performed well to average 2.5 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 1.8 clearances, 1.3 shots and 0.8 key passes per game in La Liga. He was even tidy when distributing possession from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 86% in league football (stats via whoscored).

Casemiro is under contract at the Madrid club until the summer of 2025. Hence, Carlo Ancelotti is under no pressure to cash in on him this summer. The Brazilian will also be better off staying at the Bernabeu where he will have a good shot at tasting more success this season.

Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Let Casemiro Go This Summer?

Casemiro is a tough-tackling midfielder who can make a few important interceptions for his team at the centre of the park. He is often quick to spot the danger and doesn’t hesitate to clear his lines when the opposition are on the front foot. Casemiro is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also serve as a central defender if required.

The Brazilian sensation can strike the ball with a lot of power from long range and is a decent playmaker as well in the opposition half. However, at 30, father time is slowly catching up with his game.

Still, there is no denying Casemiro’s quality and winning mindset which has made him such a success story at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. At the moment, the Brazilian talent remains an essential member of Ancelotti’s first XI because of his consistency and reliability at the centre of the park.

Therefore, it makes no sense for Los Blancos to let him go before the end of this month despite Man United’s recent interest in him. Real Madrid should rather look to keep hold of him for the duration of his career as long as the player can maintain his good form in the Spanish capital.
