See Bernd Leno’s statement about Julian Brandt transfer to Arsenal

Bernd Leno has previously talked about his international teammate Julian Brandt transfer to Arsenal.
Arsenal are trying to forget Emi Buendia move to Aston Villa by searching to sign an attacking midfielder.
The Gunners still consider a permanent deal for Martin Odegaard but that is not likely to happen as Carlo Ancelotti recently became Real Madrid manager.

One alternative, however, could be Julian Brandt.
Reports in Germany claim Brandt is up for sale this summer after a disappointing season for Borussia Dortmund – along with Nico Schulz, who Arsenal reportedly registered an interest in last year.
The German midfielder has been linked with the club for some time now, but a deal has never materialised.
One man who certainly seemed keen when the links first emerged was Arsenal goalkeeper – and international teammate – Bernd Leno.
Not only for the German national team, but the pair also played together for Bayer Leverkusen between 2014 and 2018. And it seems Leno would be more than happy for a reunion at the Emirates.

“I read the rumours with Arsenal and wrote them a few messages right away,” said Leno, in an interview with German publication Sport 1 at the time. “But I don’t know what is really there.
“In any case, I would be happy if he would come.
Jule is a good friend, we had a very good time in Leverkusen and privately we were often out for one or two beers.
“Maybe we can experience that again in the future.”
Brandt has been with Dortmund since 2019 after moving from Leverkusen in a deal worth £21.4million,
but his time at the club looks set to come to a premature end.
He could be exactly who the Gunners need to get the club firing again,
but with a contract running until 2024 and a value of £22.5m,
Arsenal will need to negotiate shrewdly in order to finally get a hold of him.
